Abhimanyu is one of the most famous characters from Mahabharata, I feel people know very little of him & his real potential is not known to many

In this #thread I will give you all the fine details about Abhimanyu & his past life, something which most of you were never aware off

Abhimanyu was son of Arjun & Subhadra, we all know Arjun but we barely knw anything about Subhadra.

Subhadra was avtar of Yog Maya, same Yog Maya who helped baby Krishna to escape Mathura & settle in Gokul

She was one of most powerful woman in entire Mahabharata along Draupadi

Well most of the characters in Mahabharata were reincarnations of Gods or those equal to Gods. We mostly know abt 5 Pandavas & Karna being sons of Gods but there were many more. Infact all Gods had their presence in this Mahabharata in one or another form

So who was Abhimanyu?

When Vishnu had decided to take birth as Krishna, all Gods decided to either take birth themselves or send their sons. Only one God refused, he was Chandra. This made Bramha angry, he said there was no choice. Indra alongside other Devas went to convince Chandra on this matter.

Indra said if u don't want to participate then send your son Varchas. Chandra said I love my son & I don't want to be imparted frm my son for long. Devas tried to convince Chandra to agree. Finally Chandra decided to put some conditions for allowing his son Varchas to take birth

-I will send my son only for 16 yrs
-Both Nar Narayan will be present in the war, hence there should be one day, whr both Nar Narayan will be away from him
-that day he will rise above everyone

Indra agreed these conditions, asked Ganesha to write Ved accordingly for Mahabharata

Varchas was eldest son of Chandra from wife Rohini & a very powerful warrior himself. Varchas then took birth in Mahabharata as Abhimanyu, son of Arjun

Abhimanyu was trained as warrior under guidance of his two maternal uncles Krishna & Balram

He was fierce warrior like Arjun

On the 13th day of the Yudh, Arjun was diverted to South by Shusharma, far away frm battle field. Now Drona seized the opportunity to form a Chakravyuh & trap Yudhistir to end the war. But Abhimanyu rose above & asked permission to lead Pandavas to break this Chakravyuh.

Abhimanyu was leading & other 4 Pandavas were following his trails, but Jaydrat using his special boon stopped Pandavas, Drupad & Drishtidhumnya. Abhimanyu was successful in breaking that Chakravyuh & he entered the mid whr he faced all the Maharathis & Athirathis from Kauravas.

Abhimanyu fought one on one battle with Drona, Kripa, Karna, Duryodhana, Kritvarma, Ashwathama, etc
Abhimanyu was unstoppable & he defeated all of them in one on one battle. He killed Lakshman who was elder son of Duryodhana
Drona was absolutely furious to see son of Chandra
Why?

To find out why, we have to rewind the history. Brihaspati who is Guru of all Devas regarded Chandra as his enemy. According to legend Brihaspati's wife Tara had an illicit affair with Chandra, when Brihaspati found out, he got furious & Tara was now pregnant. Whose child it was?

Both Chandra & Brihaspati asked but Tara didn't answer, then child from the womb asked whose child I am? Devas said child deserves to know, Tara answered Chandra. Brihaspati felt humiliated & cursed the child to be neither man nor woman. He was born as Budh, neither man nor woman

Brihaspati took birth in Mahabharata as Drona & son of his enemy was right in front of him, who broke his Chakravyuh & defeated all his warriors. Drona allowed Adharma of attacking Abhimanyu by all together against one. Yet the young warrior kept fighting with utmost energy.

All his Chariots were destroyed, weapons destroyed, but to break his bow was impossible. Karna did a cowardish act & broke Abhimanyu's bow from behind. His last weapon gone, yet he picked up a wheel of the Chariot & continued his battle, yet Kauravas couldn't defeat him.

Karna's elder son Vrishasen did next coward act by stabbing Abhimanyu from behind. Then Dushasana's son Drumasen & Vrishasen stabbed Abhimanyu from all sides. Abhimanyu was now bleeding from all sides, had no weapon, no chariot, his uncles, father couldn't come for his rescue

Finally all Kauravas together stabbed the wounded Abhimanyu to death & celebrated by dancing around his dead corpse. Completely horrific to imagine.
But if u notice all 3 conditions set by Chandra were fulfilled.
16 yr old Abhimanyu on his own fought & became immortal in history

Karna & his son Vrishasen played a big role in killing Abhimanyu & Arjun had decided to take revenge. On 17th day, Vrishasen clashed with Arjun, he fired several arrows towards Arjun & one arrow struck Krishna's arm. Arjun immediately challenged Karna, to come & save his son.

Arjun then started a lethal attack on Vrishasen, Karna intervened & made desperate attempts to save his son. But on that day Arjun was simply unstoppable, he showed why he was the best archer in world. Arjun slayed Vrishasen in front of Karna & Karna could do nothing but watch

Later Arjun clashed with Karna, Arjun was once again lethal in this battle. Each time he fired a shot, Karna's Chariot was pushed 10 steps back. At one point Karna's Chariot got stuck in the mud, Karna asked Arjun to be like Kshatriya & wait for battle to be resumed. Arjun agreed

Krishna looked at Arjun & asked him, wat are u waiting for, here is a man who treacherously attacked ur son when he was left without a Chariot, without weapon & stabbed him by leaving all Kshatriya dharma aside. Show him no mercy & take revenge for your son. Arjun picked his bow

Fired shot at Karna, which took Karna's life. Thus Arjun had then taken full revenge for killing his son Abhimanyu. Karna was badly defeated by Abhimanyu, later killed him by treachery, now Karna faced Karma for his misdeeds
