How to reduce overwhelm in your life.
Create more clarity and intention.

(thread)
1. Consuming less random media.

I am convinced that the amount of nonsense we consume is directly proportional to how cluttered our mind feels.
An hour. Control the type of books you read, stuff you watch or listen to. Avoid aimless TL scrolling. Create lists and communities.
2. Planning your weeks

Weekly planning has really changed my weeks. This helps you know what the F you are doing. It keeps you on track and you take stock of your life, goals, finances, good habits, shopping, deadlines, important dates etc. There are many templates on Pinterest.
3. Write & journal daily.

★ Pour it all out.

There's something about "brain dumping" that gets the "noise" out of your head on paper/ on your comp!
4. Remove the clutter & distractions

A big part of finding clarity is also reducing the noise. The distractions. Declutter your space, desk, computer, social media feed and ultimately your mind. Focus on what's important.
5. Prioritize and eat the frog.

Start by dividing tour tasks in 4 parts and work in this order.

★ Urgent & important.
★ Important but not urgent .
★ Not Important but Urgent.
★ Not too Important and not urgent.
6. Write down your non-negotiables

What are the tasks that you have to do no matter what? I.e.. Making those sales calls, sending that report. Sometimes, you keep pushing them to the end of the week

My friend Leah @ecotealsconsult always reminds me to finish those on Monday.
7. Note down tasks when they come up

Have a notebook/ list where you note down tasks. This will prevent you from working on surprise tasks last minute or missing deadlines. I mark emails as unread until I have time to work on them.
8. Simplify your to do list

The to do list is the one tool meant to make life easier but when used badly, can cause more dread and anxiety.

Write down the tasks that you are humanly capable of completing that day/ week. Prioritize and tick them off. Don't fill it with 20+ tasks
9. Take care of other aspects of your life that you have control over.

Work on your routines and systems, settle any issue you have with loved ones, clean your desk/ space..

Having one aspect of your life in chaos can really make you feel like everything else is a mess.
10. Give energy to what matters

We have finite energy. Everything takes energy. Know what to give energy to. There are things & situations that you really shouldn't be worrying about that take so much from you.

Let some things go, ignore pointless things..
11. Rest & relax

Take a break. Rest and replenish. Sleep well. Working without rest is a recipe for overwhelm. Make time for hobbies and activities that spark your mind and bring you joy.

This book changed how I felt about glorifying being busy.
