I have so much to say about this article. It's enraging.

1) Apparently—not the first time I've seen this accusation—standing up against transphobia is a form of misogyny. This stance only makes sense if you equate trans people to predators who harm women—rapists etc. 1/n https://twitter.com/soniasodha/status/1360885851102797824
Well I'm afraid, yes, having this attitude does rather make you a bigot.

(I suppose I should slap myself on the back now.) 2/n
2) Sure, many men—particularly gay men—are pro-trans rights. To put it frankly, this is because we see people like *you* @soniasodha. 3/n
...People who have eaten up the arguments which were once used to deny us our rights—we're paedophiles, we're predators, we're rapists etc. (backs to the wall, lads!)—and are now regurgitating them to use against trans people.

It's sick. 4/n
3) The above notwithstanding, some of the fiercest pro-trans allies I know are *women*, including women of colour. Why erase these women's voices? Are they misogynist too?

Serious question: why pretend that this is a man problem? 5/n
I don't know what to be more offended by: the transphobia; the attempt to silence men (particularly gay men); the actual silencing of women; or the whole intellectual vacuity of it all.

Maybe it's the general divisiveness. 6/n
I'm not sure how to end this thread on anything resembling a positive note.

So here's me with my favourite women instead. Such a misogynist. 🙄 7/7 https://twitter.com/AdamWJT/status/1355840329778421762?s=19
Oh here's a less cynical way to end the thread!

Please sign @DavidPaisley's petition to cease the uncritical platforming of the anti-trans LGB Alliance. They do not represent our beautiful community—make it known! https://twitter.com/DavidPaisley/status/1361085691111870466?s=19
