Cruz went to front toss trying to hit line drives to the back of the net. THEN Velo machine. He says he was training movements in his routine that he does everyday BEFORE ever hitting a ball on the Velo machine.
Cruz has developed a consistent routine that works for him. Works on moving well first THEN tests it against Velo. Do we need to test it against a difficult environment? Absolutely. However, we must have a swing or routine that promotes CONSISTENCY.
