My heart is heavy thinking of those we lost in the Parkland shooting. I was driving home from work in the Florida turnpike when it came on the radio. Just a few miles from where I was at the time. I was pissed. Not again! Then I watched the horror unfold.
The lives lost again because our elected officials are beholden to their donors. I had to go to DC to show my support and hope that those in Congress would listen. Most didn’t. One party won’t even consider gun reform. We see how they’ve evolved into the party of more violence.
Trump gave them lip service when they visited the WH. @mtgreenee harassed one of the victims when he was in DC trying to plead for change. Look where we are now. There’s something very wrong when those people get a seat at the table. @marcorubio chose that side.
For that he must lose his seat. Anyone who sided with violence must go. One side has chosen their path. It’s up to us to stop them. Not by violence, but, electing those who aren’t running for power, but for the people. The impeachment trial showed the difference in the parties.
One will cling to power no matter what. Regardless of the cost...grasping onto authoritarian ideology. Bringing violent extremists into their circle to hold on to that power. They don’t care about kids or POC being killed. They have one goal. Power.
If not for the pandemic, Trump probably would have won. He’s not going to stop. For our kids sake and our country’s sake, we have to triple down. Learn from Stacy Abrams and mobilize for 2022 and beyond. We must.
