Had a CT showing renal & liver masses w/ kidney suspicious for cancer. Radiologist recommended MRI for further characterization. Now my insurance company is refusing to pay for the MRI saying it’s not “medically necessary.” My doc sure as hell thought it was. 1/3
“Please talk to your doctor if you have questions.” What a joke. He ordered the damn thing (which WAS necessary) and someone in an office who’s never met either of us gets to deny the claim. This is the last thing cancer patients need to deal with. Or physicians. 2/3
Physicians don’t bill hourly like lawyers so he’d get paid nothing for fighting my fight for me. In fact, he called me w/ the MRI results after hours and gave me his cell number. We have to put the power of providing healthcare back into the hands of those who see patients. 3/3
