“We live in a society” is not the bit of brilliance some of y’all think it is which is why so many folks are laughing at it. It’s absolutely ridiculous lol
It’s like the hyper grim dark equivalent of Sonic saying “Gotta buzz, cuz” before he slices Eggman in two or an actually-murderous-instead-of-implied hyper 90s muscled Flintheart Glomgold holding a bloodied knife and snarling “Curse me kilts” while staring into the camera lol
I dunno. Am I being too mean? All this feels so... unearned.
One of the reasons people loved Endgame and Infinity War is that it was the culmination of tons of stuff over time. The DCEU has been haphazard and clumsy by comparison. Like folks who are ashamed of fun comics made it

Which is notable because DC used to embrace and lean in to its over-the-top fun elements as opposed to Marvel which had a different vibe. Marvel movies knows what they are
DCEU feels like edgy gamers studied a hot topic & painted everything a dingy vantablack with broad strokes

I dunno. Perhaps I’m being a curmudgeon. Maybe it’s just not for me but all I did during that trailer was roll my eyes
I don’t want DC movies to be Marvel movies but good lord, I definitely don’t want them to be whatever this is either. All that’s missing is cartoony death metal

Anyways dude gets to finish his movie which few people do so... yay for him. I have my own very stark opinions but I won’t knock that.
Although it’s the most tepid yay in the world when you look too hard at everything else beyond that.

*cough* what happened to Ray Fisher & the general nastiness which tend to follow Snyder fans on social media. But those are two other conversations entirely.
Probably poking @ hornets but the DCEU isn’t very fun, interesting or even engaging considering its best source material.

But again, YMMV. *shrugs* There’s room for edginess and even very intense storytelling but this has felt mostly gratuitous imho. It is what it is.
