I have obtained a copy of COLLINS GUIDE TO ANIMAL TRACKS AND SIGNS (1972), and it is glorious. I'm going to thread some images below.
Nuts and other fruits handled by animals

Droppings, natural size
Gait and tracks, walking, trotting, and gallop
Positions of gnawing and pecking on woody plants
Mole, trail
Position of urine in relation to the track. Fox above, deer below.
Silver fir from which the branches have been bitten off by a hare, for no apparent reason.
