Why Sam Johnstone is the most underrated goalkeeper in the league.
[A Thread]
Secured us our first 3 points against Sheffield United with a MOTM performance.
Made some really good saves and was absolutely solid in goal that day. https://twitter.com/WBA/status/1333459527086321666?s=20/video/1
A super-save against a Firmino header against Liverpool in the final minutes of the game, which helped us shithouse a draw at Anfield.
A MOTM perfomance against City, made seven saves including two incredible stops from two close-rage headers in injury time, which helped us take a point from the Etihad.
Saved us a point yet again. An acrobatic super-save from a Maguire header on the last minute of the game.
But didn't West Brom concede the most in the entire division???
People seems to fail to realize that we had far more shots against us than other teams in the division, and also the most defensive errors leading to goals.
The goals we conceded were mostly by the defence that let him down, leaving the opposition in clear dangerous situations.
People also seems to ignore the fact that he has the most saves in the PL.
He's been looked over so much, you know a player is really underrated when he makes in no one's underrated XI.
Even in games where we get absolutely battered, he still performs brilliantly. Sometimes you just have to feel bad for him.
Without him we'll be breaking Derby's 2007/08 points record..
