12 Things I’d Stop Drama Writers from Doing if I Could.

1. Use the dialog: Aap fresh ho ke ajaen main chai banati hoon
(Is se zyada wahiyaat filler dialog koi nahee dunya mai)

2. Use the dialog: dekho darwazay pe kon aya hai?
(Behen, sab ko awaz aa rehi hai, koi kholayga hi!)
3. Use the ‘overheard them so now they know everything trick’. This is just lazy writing.

4. No flashbacks! Flashbacks are bad! They’re unbearable if they go on forever.

5. No moony walks & dialogs & staring out into space thinking of someone or ... going through a flashback
6. Mayyat scenes prolonged like a grand event.

7. Shadi scenes where the heroine is more dolled up than the bride

8. Bad extras. Go to NAPA or sth, get their young boys & girls. Stop hiring sifarshis & girls & boys who give more attention to their hair than their tonality.
9.Stop letting ameer ppl behave like middle classiyas (she lives in a 1000 acre mansion, she’s not gonna go make tea for 10 ppl)

10.Stop letting ameer ppl behave like they walk around wearing chunky jewelry & high heels. They only do that when they have committee lunches.
11. Stop letting ghareeb ppl behave like ameer ppl: you can’t afford school fees but you guys have porcelain skin & perfectly blow dried hair & perfectly manicured nails & designer lawn. She doesn’t seem like she’s been cleaning all day, it seems like she’s been at the spa.
12. Stop letting ppl think that ghareeb ppl have giant mansion like ‘cottages’ & perfect spick & span lounges & beautiful verandahs.

No. They have broken taps & rusting pipes & messy & small rooms with crippling wall paint with flickering lights & chipped furniture.
I know writers aren’t totally responsible for it but production and content teams are. Pls note.

I also am aware certain things are escapist reality & sanitized for screen but let’s not get carried away completely. Peace!
