Some thoughts about the desperate little lies being told, and breathlessly disingenuous media coverage designed to sell the idea that the federal government is uniquely responsible for and uniquely failing management of the pandemic.

(I have previously noted, BTW, that one of the prizes for being Government is that, fairly or not, disasters always come to your door. But there is no disaster as of yet, so the Conservatives, with help, are doing what they can to pretend there is one.) My concern is that...
...we have a politics and media that has misunderstood the need to hold governments to account: you find the real issues (which are many, in every government) that have been bungled or corruptly decided, issues with real (preferably obvious) repercussions, and demand answers....
...Thatâs not what has been happening. Instead the Opposition, whether âHer Majestyâs (official) Loyal Oppositionâ or the so-called resistance has been ginning up false narratives, seemingly in coordination, that include some extraordinary hypocrisy and sophomoric nonsense....
...This shows you now that at least three of those opposition leaders have disingenuously dragged the pharmaceuticals into their attempts to paint the federal government as lackadaisical, incompetent or deliberately obfuscating. And the media gives this false narrative...
...enormous time and space, ahead even if one of the most important and sensational stories of our time. THAT is not the role of properly opposing the government and holding them to account. And that other story shows what happens when this continues ad nauseam...
Itâs not so much that I âstand with Trudeauâ as I stand with social democracy. I stand with authenticity. I stand with genuine narratives. No matter how bad the Trudeau Government might be, as long as their far and away better, theyâll get my vote. By design or by default.
âTheyâreâ sigh.
