And @EvanSolomonShow had Bob Fife on the other day who was spreading outright disinformation about India re: vaccines and he never bothered to correct the record even when both Modi and Trudeau made statements.

I tracked that misinformation across Twitter. 200,000 + impressions.

We have a genuine problem in this country and we really are going to need to find a way to address it.

It will utterly destroy our democracy if we don't.

As Nicole Wallace said while reporting on the storming of their Capitol by citizens who had been radicalized by misinformation, disinformation and malinformation, “It would seem now, looking at the images on our screen, that the gravest threat is domestic disinformation.”

I am a very big champion of the free press and believe in their value in the same way I believe in democracy. So when I say this, it's not the whine of a partisan, it's the warning of a patriot: our free press is broken, weakened by starvation and unable to fulfill its function.

So we need to rethink the model. And we need to do that soon.
