Time for a history lesson, the region now known as Puntland in the 90s was non existent, electricity was scarce & would turn off at 5pm, women would die in child birth due to no hospitals to deliver children, the closest airport was berbera & Hargeisa, education was non existent.
The largest region & there was less than 14 functioning schools. Every area had roadblocks set up by different militia, zero governmental services would reach the locals. Clean water was hard to come by, sporadic fighting was rampant.
Now Puntland today, over 900 schools from early education through to vocational & universities, the region has become a beacon for Somalia having the most children enrolled & the highest level of access it has emerged as a role model for other regions. https://www.globalpartnership.org/blog/puntland-role-model-other-regions-emerging-conflict
Electricity works 24 hrs a day, water is clean & widely accessible, hospitals & healthcare is accessible, new projects still being undertaken, more details in the previous thread below showing that the region has the highest access to all these services https://twitter.com/PuntitePundit/status/1286186626708721666?s=19
The region has the most international airports in Somalia, running both national & international flights, such as Bosaso & Garowe airports, with a new modern Galkacyo airport underway, a port in Bosaso & another almost completed in Garacad & a third contracted for Eyl.
Today State security forces control the security of the region, from the local police force to the Darawish military branch, from the Special operations @PSFForces to the maritime security @PMPFOfficial forces the region boasts the best security in Somalia & is the safest.
