Why a Great Awokening? Why is Wokeism dominant?
I've never seen a full roster of potential factors. Here's a list. Any more to add?

1. generational turnover (younger are woker)
2. useful weapon in intra-elite competition
3. managerial elite finds it useful for managing us

4. used as luxury beliefs or signaling status
5. fills the void caused by the decline of religion
6. lack of effective opposition
7. outgrowth of WEIRDness
8. we’re so rich we can afford luxuries like wokeism
9. non-white ethnocentrism and anti-whiteness

10. whites who feel shame/guilt and anti-whiteness
11. feminization of universities, media, and ideas industries
12. the world (and the left) is getting less intelligent
13. empathizing overpowers systematizing
14. outgrowth of postmodernism

15. outgrowth of cultural Marxism
16. capital uses wokeness as a distraction from capitalism
