the indianapolis museum of art (newfields) being racist is not recent news. remember why they started charging for entry?
in 2014 after over 50 years of being free they started charging $18 per adult ticket to punish low-income families living in the area.
the board of entirely white men approved this, last names including eskenazi, clowes, lily, and efroymson (all aristocratic famiy names in and around indianapolis)
they built a fence around the playground to keep children of the area (the poorest zipcode in the coty) out.

none of this is surprising, considering the museum’s racist history and lack of interest in the community. but so disappointing. so so. So disappointing
everyone involved in the drafting and approval of this needs to resign, now. that includes charles venable, the entire board and the head of HR, laura mcgrew.
i love indy. but this is a painful reminder that the ppl in charge of it don’t
