Something to remind people about when they hoot and holler about the importance of voting, but have no clue what mutual aid groups in their area are doing: https://twitter.com/___wordsmiff___/status/1360781644525928449
Elections are over. While a lot of the noise around staying engaged has died down, our jobs aren’t done. People are still hungry and houseless, and will continue to be regardless of what elected leaders do.

That’s why giving to mutual aid is so simple but necessary.
Consistent giving — even just small amounts — can be, and often is, the difference between a family eating or not eating, paying their rent or being evicted.
There are people in your community doing more important work than the people you elected and building parallel systems to directly meet people’s basic material needs, since the government has proven that it won’t.

We can help ourselves, educate each other + build in the process.
