#ValentinesDay is meant to be a day of love & kindness, especially in the era of #COVID19

Instead I've seen some very nasty & racist posts on social media today â˜č

So I've decided to share a few of the accounts I ❀ following, all of which remind me there is good in the world.
@Flaminhaystack is beyond amazing and well worth a follow.

She frequently calls out sexism, posts fascinating historical threads and shares her incredible art with the world.

Plus she is lovely and kind and a firefighter. In other words she's awesome! đŸ‘©â€đŸš’
@TravActivist constantly campaigns in support of Travellers. By following them I've learned a lot about how this community is treated.

Their tweets can make me sad and angry, but the work they are doing is really important and needs sharing and support.
@LucidWhim is a wonderful and kind woman. Her amazing daughter Amy was killed by #SecondaryBreastCancer last year 💔

Fiona is always there to provide support, kindness & encouragement to other #cancer patients, while speaking up on behalf of those of us who are #DyingForACure.
@runawaygirl248 is another wonderful person to follow.

A particular highlight of her account is the adorable photos and videos she shares of her 3 dogs:
@Theocav2019
@saffy2019
@MillyMoo2019

I highly recommend following all of them. The dogs post some great tweets! đŸ˜đŸŸ
@abcdiagnosis is a tireless & determined campaigner for everyone with #BreastCancer, especially those of us with #SecondaryBreastCancer.

She helped set up @metupukorg and alongside @bccww has been one of the forces that has kept me sane since my diagnosis.

Definitely a shero đŸ’Ș
@hannahw253 is inspirational & educational to follow.

She served in the British Army (which is enough to earn my respect). She then went on to become an advocate for trans issues, earning a well deserved MBE.

I've learned a lot since following her.
@karren_brady is one of my idols & role models in life. Her book Strong Woman helped me get through my 1st experience of managing people at work.

Since my #SecondaryBreastCancer diagnosis I've re-read it several times for inspiration.

Her tweets are always great as well!
I always recommend that people follow @AuschwitzMuseum.

Their tweets frequently make me cry, but they serve as a vital reminder of the dangers of hatred.

The Holocaust didn't start with gas chambers. It started with hate filled words, discrimination & intolerance.
These accounts all inspire me and provide a counter to some of the nastiness in the world.

I don't mind people disagreeing, but be kind about it. There's always room for more kindness in the world.

If you made it this far in the thread thanks for reading 😊
