It would be fascinating if a team of politics-neutral research psychologists studied the tweets and other writing of our Blue Check brethren to see how much if any lockdown takes place in their thinking once they've published their takes.
How much are their stated views then affected by subsequent events and revelations?

How much of their lockdown stems from prior bias, how much by peer pressure, how much by brand defensiveness?
This is a phenomenon I've been aware of since pre-McCain nomination, when my conservative mentors locked-in very quickly to Romney and never let go.

Now, I'm thinking about January 6, when my friends were convinced we had an insurrection that was instigated by Trump's speech.
How many conservatives are still using that word and how many of them are still convinced it was Trump's speech that lit the fuse?

I think about this a lot.
