Here is the thing about the entire impeachment fiasco:

Nobody, on any side of this, was willing to risk any political capital to do what was right...with a few key notable exceptions.

Pelosi delayed submitting the articles of impeachment to the Senate for a host of reasons. McConnell is no hero in this. He believes (supposedly) that Trump committed impeachable acts, but the impeachment came too late to do anything? That is silly, and every Republican arguing the latter will flip if a Democrat is ever charged in such a fashion.

Yesterday, we get to the Senate, where they approved witnesses!

The Dems clearly never wanted that. They played chicken with the moderate GOP members, and lost.

Once forced to decided, they decided with no witnesses...because the political cost was too high.

The only ones that really put any of their own capital at risk during this were GOP like Cheney and Romney. And I wouldn't say they were heroes,; were simply competent.

In short, both parties are garbage. Believing otherwise with the evidence at hand is incredibly ignorant.
