📍Axim Beach Resort, Axim
Axim Beach Resort is an eco-friendly beach resort in Axim, the capital of Nzema East Municipal in Western Region, about 90 minutes from the Takoradi Airport.

They arrange pick-ups for ¢500 one way, ¢1000 both ways from the airport, and ¢1000 one way, ¢2000 both ways from Accra.
The theme here is “environmentally friendly” - we’re talking solar hot water, boreholes and where possible using recycled materials. The resort is on a hill and has absolutely beautiful views of the bay - I’m pretty sure the views and the beach are their selling points.
They’re open for day trips too and arrange tours for guests who would like to explore the town.
They have events like live band nights which make them a good weekend hangout for those living in the town.
There’s also a spa on-site and massage packages there begin from ¢130.
Check in begins at 12:00pm and check out ends at the same time.

Oh I got the Honeymoon Chalet, which was huge with yellow lights and a wood and stone theme and a balcony overlooking the bay. It had a desk, bench, fridge, wardrobe, AC (very important) and TV.
The view during the day is so calming, and it’s so beautiful when the sun is setting.
Gives you all the feels.
The welcome set-up was so cute, they had flowers & towels in a little arrangement on the bed.

12am convos on the baclony different, especially with bottle of wine. Whew.
There weren’t many toiletries provided here, just a bar of locally made soap, so bring yours. The water heater, which I’m guessing is solar powered wasn’t working well - the water was either boiling hot or cold.
It’s a little worrying that the only thing preventing someone walking on the path b/w the rooms from falling down the side of the hill is their personal gravity & a rope.
The vertigo was intense & I feel like they need to put a few more measures in place to prevent any accidents.
There is wifi available but both that and my personal network barely worked in the room, which seems to be a general beach side resort problem. Room service is available till 10:00pm and comes at an extra charge of ¢15 (each time you order).
Morning view from the bed, evening view on the balcony☺️😍
They have a pool and a beach in the same area. The pool looked pretty inviting but I stuck with the beach throughout. Their beach is absolutely beautiful - clear blue water, clean sand, perfect breeze. As we all know I’m a big beach lover and this was a pretty perfect vibe.
It was a weekday, so it was super quiet and peaceful which meant I could spend the whole day in the water. I 100% could have fallen asleep by it.

Remember to always have your sunscreen at the beach - skin damage is real (Yes, even for African skin).
The downside is except for about 3 of them, this area isnt easily accessible from the other rooms, and by not easily accessible, I mean it’s far & involves SO much walking. Between the long staircases and numerous ascending paths I was pretty winded by the time I got to the beach.
There was also no life guard and apparently during weekends there are a number of events on the lawn between the pool and beach which take away the quiet element.
On the plus side, the wifi and my network worked really well down here.
There are 2 restaurants but no fixed menu (yet), so the waitstaff will just tell you what’s available.
Breakfast, which is free with the room and ¢60 for non-guests is served buffet style at only one of the restaurants. Like the rest of the meals, you can have it brought to your room at a ¢15 charge. It’s very basic though, the options aren’t too many.
For other meals you’ll need to order from the second restaurant, next to the poolside and beach.

The bar wasnt fully functional so no cocktails.
We tried to get kpookeke (dont judge me,its very fire)but they told us it was ¢150 for the bottle since they charge ¢25 per shot. Wild.
Alsoooo, they didn’t have ice. We asked for some for our drinks and after giving excuses for a little over 2 hours, the waiter brought us a frozen bottle of water (I think we were supposed to break it).
I got the
•Assorted Fried Rice - ¢50
•Assorted Noodles - ¢50
•Grilled Chicken with Fries - ¢30

The fried rice was so good! Definitely recommending it. I got that at the beach and it took about an hour to be served. The rice had this buttery taste and was full of meat.
The chicken pieces were a little small, but its pretty hard to get chicken & fries wrong.
Like the rice, the assorted *noodles was full of meat & even though the spaghetti was a little overcooked it was nice.
Huge portion by the way, could easily feed 2 people who dont eat a lot.
The restaurant closes at 10:00pm for both residents and non-residents, so order early. Estimate a 45-60 minute wait-time for your food.
So, those are the basics. It’s a beautiful place and even though service was a little slow I completely loved my stay and will most likely return.
