"Vitamin D megadosage at least twice the recommended daily upper limit is a useful treatment for life-threatening covid" ≠ ”just take supplements and you'll be OK" (although you should take supplements, especially at this time of year)
Vitamin D deficiency has probably been underestimated but there is some very, very irresponsible talk about Vitamin D making everything else unnecessary. That's simply not the case (unfortunately).
The other thing is that even if you had a perfect treatment for covid, that wouldn't mean you don't have to tamp down the spread of the disease with control over movement - wildly uncontrolled spread clogs up hospitals and lots of people die because they can't be treated.
So, you know. It's useful. It doesn't mean we don't have to vaccinate. It doesn't mean masks are useless. It doesn't mean, for now, that we don't need lockdown.
Excellent thread - I hadn't read the paper closely enough but there is one detail that will make you gasp https://twitter.com/fperrywilson/status/1360944814271979523?s=19
