Received a call from Vanraj Bhatia ji earlier this week, who rarely compromised on the quality of his art & life.

Its not to do with his routine but, Vanraj ji has a major payment dues coming up this month for his annual Medical Insurance Premium... and was requiring a Help of 50K needed for the insurance company.. Now to take you back to some background on this .
Vanraj ji ran out of Bank Balance earlier two years ago, and had some medical emergencies for some costly injections on regular basis that he couldn't afford without some money..
We immediately pooled some money and helped him followed by a lot of institutional support

The multiple campaigns, friends & fans came together, helped Vanraj Ji in rebuilding his monetary balance & soon he regained some sort of financial stability.
Sujit his caretaker was handling all his expenses and accounts. I was in regular touch with Sujit till a few months back

Vanraj ji was doing good with his health and also routine expenses.. Now remember he is 94 and cant walk out to bank or manage his accounts.. Last August Sujit went to his village for some time & didnt come for a couple of months, and Vanraj ji found he is short of bank balance.
During the 2019 campaign to support Vanraj ji, people sent money to his bank account.. and he had sufficiently decent amount in the Bank.. Vanraj ji told me few days back that his bank balance is back where it was as he found it short by atleast 4lacs, after Sujit went.
Now with a big medical insurance premium pending to be paid this month in order of 40-50K, he called me with help of his new caretaker Gajanan.. I had a detailed talk with Gajanan, who told me Sujit took away a lot of money...
I immediately rushed some help.. and have already committed for the medical insurance premium for him, but with a condition to paying Medical Company directly..
I have been fortunate to be in company of great friends, who are willing to support him for life

I didn't want to discuss his condition on social media either,
but the idea for writing today is not requesting Money for him or sending it to his bank account.

I am writing it today to seek solutions and suggestions from the intelligent lot for this problem..
Remember Vanraj ji is 94, and cant go out to perform to earn his bread at this age... I am surprised by Government of India doesn't offer a Pension Scheme for such artists..

This is a big failure of Institutions @MinOfCultureGoI @PrakashMagdum @PrakashJavdekar @NFAIOfficial @FTIIOfficial @sangeetnatak when we cant have support for PadmaShri recipients like #VanrajBhatia. Am sure this is not going to be a story of him only but a lot of artists
#Important Sending Vanraj Bhatia ji, a one time money, donation wont help his cause.. This needs an institutional policy & support from Govt or Private..
and its not just about him, but a lot of veteran artists

If the Government or Institutions can atleast take care of Medical Support for life for such veteran artists #VanrajBhatia
