Let’s talk 💫 LOVE 💫

When love is brought up online, especially on days like Valentines Day, there seems to be an assumption that the word ‘love’ is referring to eurocentric, Anglo centric, consumeristic notions of love. Which for some people & in some contexts it is.

But...
When I think of love, and the way I see love framed within the context of my family, my friendships, and my community it really isn’t about those things or built in that way.

Love isn’t about needing another person to be a whole, it’s far wider and deeper than that
Love is being so supported & grounded in who you are, where you are, & from who & where you have come... that you can stand anywhere and know that you are enough.

Love is not limited to fellow humankind. It is connected & interwoven with land, water, sky, story, kin creatures
Love is what drives us as we rally and march on Invasion Day. When there is yet another death in custody. Love is knowing our obligation to continue the fights & pursue the rights of our ancestors, for our communities & our future descendants.
