1) The European Parliament resolution regarding the arrest and trial of Paul Rusesabagina on terrorism related charges is not only outrageous but show complete lack of empathy for the victims of Rusesabagina’s terror attacks. https://thegreatlakeseye.com/post?s=EU-%E2%80%93Parliament-stand-on-the-case-of-Rusesabagina-is-out-of-order._93
2) The debate in the EU parliament on the arrest and detention of Rusesabagina was prompted by the reasoning that Rusesabagina holds Belgian nationality and therefore, an EU citizen. Granted. However, the name Rusesabagina is purely Rwandan and not Belgian or European.
3) One of the co-accused Calixte Nsabimana who was FLN spokesperson confessed to the terrorism charges and told court that Rusesabagina was indeed his boss!
4) If it is a matter of human rights concerns that the EU Parliament got involved in advocacy on the case of Rusesabagina, it is therefore, appalling to see that there is no mention or condemnation of the attacks in western Rwanda or any message of sympathy towards the victims!
5) This shows total lack of empathy, and ‘selective humanitarianism.’ It is like those who died in the terror attacks deserved to die anyway or their lives did not matter. Widows and orphans of FLN attacks cry day and night for justice to prevail.
6) Rwandans who lost their relatives in the FLN attacks have their hearts still bleeding. They were relieved to see that Rusesabagina was apprehended and they are anxiously waiting for justice to prevail; but sadly, their loved ones will not come back to life.
