Sensational talent @RealShubmanGill is currently without a bat sponsor which made me curious about sponsorships in the game of cricket @BCCI

So how much are these deals worth?

@MRFWorldwide must get @RealShubmanGill! It's akin to the @rogerfedererfdn endorsement deal with @ROLEX but for Cricket (given MRF legacy)

This could also be the next level of sponsorship for the super-funded #startups in #India like @Paytm @vijayshekhar or @CRED_club @kunalb11

The most prominent cricketer that I remember to have made #MRF famous in the game of cricket is @sachin_rt

Tendulkar was the first Indian sportsman to land a commercial deal worth an expected ₹100 crores (~ $13 million today) with MRF in 2001

@imVkohli signed an endorsement deal with #MRF worth ₹12.5 crores per year for an 8-year period beginning in 2017.

The true successor to the great Sachin Tendulkar on and off the field! Is Shubman Gill the successor to Virat???

@iamro45 The dynamic Rohit Sharma signed an endorsement deal with MRF-rival @CEATtyres in 2018 worth INR 3 crore per year for 3 years.

Multi-talented #ABD @ABdeVilliers17 from South Africa signed a 3-year endorsement deal with #MRF in 2017 worth USD 2 million per year.

Given these numbers, my guess is Shubman Gill could sign an endorsement deal worth INR 2-3 crore per year for a 3 year period.

#cricket is a game custom-made for advertisers and with about 1.5 billion fans, this sports business will only take-off in the coming decade
