Did Jarrett Jack start game 2 for the ignite?
Brandon Ashley kinda reminds me of Thad Young
Green running some side PnR w/ Hall. Doesn't really read the defense well, doesn't understand how pinched the space around Hall is. Needed to hold onto this one.
A Jalen 3. Not a huge fan of his shot form.
Much bigger fan of the 4 braids and note the pineapple bunch. Big upgrade today for Jalen.
Do rather enjoy this pass from Jalen. Ashley isn't ready for it, but that's a much higher level read and execution from Green.
Green does a good job of measuring this up in transition and scaring Flynn into a tough pass.
Kuminga has that thing where his casual dunks are still obscenely athletic.
I love me some Malachi Flynn.
Kuminga jumps this ice position hard, and gets burned by it (Hello Henry Ellenson!).
Kuminga's FT form looks fine, even if he's only shooting 60%-ish
Bad spacing execution here from Ignite. Todd posts up too tight to the inbounder, nobody else really presents for the ball, and Kuminga throws a lazy, low lob that gets picked off.
Todd needs to be another 5ft back for this so the pass can get lobbed over GP2.

Little glimpse of Kuminga's isolation package. He's got a pretty respectable handle and set of combinations right now.
Have certainly been more impressed w/ Kuminga's handle and isolation execution compared to Jalen Green.
Todd is constantly asked to do a lot when put into rotations for the Ignite, and I'm actually pretty impressed with his ability to find a man and communicate what he can.
Nix never really felt like he had control of the ball here, but nevertheless he's able to break down the defense and get a good layup for himself and an open lane for the putback.
Todd is not shy. Rare for a guy that big to have a true jumpshot, but his is very traditional w/ significant elevation and leg sway. Looks pretty good, bank aside.
Nix very focused on rim pressure tonight. This is a tough shot but he's got the body to punish people on drives.
Todd pulls in transition from deep. Hops into this shot, actually a bit out of sorts, but finds true in the end. He looks like a legit shooter to me.
Even with Amir on the court, Todd is the acting big man in this play, and he does a decent job of dropping to the level and getting a contesting arm high. Needs to get the left up too, and a mild concern with the fact that he's gets moved a bit but he'll get bulkier over time.
Nix gets to the rim again, tries a nice finish, gets his own putback. He's hustling, and he's pressuring that rim well. Happy Birthday, Daishen.
Nix FT form. Nothing necessarily out of place, but also one of those guys who really only shoots the FT with his wrist.
Todd handles a drive, gets a contest, then Nix hits the 1/2 court shot to end the quarter!
Nix/Todd get this coverage wrong. Todd isn't dropping, and it gives the driver a lane to the rim.
Todd hits ANOTHER 3 off some movement. Really impressive shooting.
Todd closes out too aggressively, loses position and gets blown by.
Nix's got a driver's gravity around the rim now, and he collapses the D and finds Jack for a 3+1
More Todd defensive activity. Recovering, stopping a drive, then contesting as the help defender. There's something in there, man.
Green just too lazy around GP2. Gotta have a better understanding of space and also GP2 has like 4 steals already at this point so you KNOW his threat.
Here's a good Jalen Green moment for you. Sinking in to discourage the drive, recovers out, gets a hand on the ball, steal, and then impressively outmuscles a hellacious defender and athlete in GP2 in transition.
Jalen's FT form. Do not like. Extremely lonzo ball energy.
Here you see Jalen's talent, getting towards the rim with a slick between the legs crossover move, but he can't package in the finish.
Just doesn't seem to have it all together yet.
Just doesn't seem to have it all together yet.
Bailed out with a foul but don't love this from Kuminga. Tries a lob to Hall that really isn't there, Jack is open along the wing with his defender ball watching and that's a much better option.
Kuminga relocates to the deep corner and slides his feet together for a 3.
Ignite in general have this thing about jumping into overly high ice position with noone really dropped behind them. Don't love it.
Kinda wish Kuminga just crashed the rim in the first place but he does a great job using a tight dribble to draw the defense and slash out of the corner. Thought he'd get the foul here but didn't have a great shot. Probably needed to look towards his wing shooter.
Nix comes down and smacks it out of Henry Ellenson's hands, then fires a gorgeous baseline to baseline pass for Kuminga to drop in.
Nix really relies on these double clutches/show+reload finishes. Helps disrupt defender's timing, and helps him use his core to stabilize the finish.
Slightly late recognition from Todd + Kuminga, but Kuminga still gets a last-second finger on this ball, then gets to the rim in transition, where Nix shows that he's got plenty of latent bounce to tip it in.
Todd has no idea that Nix has left the cutter for him, is just focused on dropping off Henry. Needs more from Nix here, at least a real shout.
Nix is feeling it. Has a lot of trust in his size to protect him in the lane as he goes up for shots like this. He plays like he knows exactly how much space he takes up.
When halftime lets you get caught up on all your clips
Green w/ too upright a drive to take advantage of getting past Hank, but he gets teh foul bail out.
This is what you don't wanna see. Jonathan Kuminga just kinda doing nothing, then it goes to Todd who turns into a double and tries to shoot a flippy piece of nonsense over it. Blergh.
I see so much late-career Bosh in Todd. Again, part of a little horns setup, steps out to the perimeter to sink an easy pop 3.
Todd with a screen that makes Sekou look stout, Nix gets way too ambitious and GP2 once again baptizes the youth.
Nix with a nice looking 3 (came out of a transition kick ahead)
Kuminga gets twisted up w/ overeager feet as Breein Tyree continues his hot streak
Nix has kinda entered "it's my birthday I do what I want" territory
I thought we were watching the G League so that I didn't have to watch shitty college zones SMH
Kuminga draws a foul flashing across the middle of the zone
I'd like to state for the record that the G Leagues FT rule is fucking stupid. It punishes good FT shooters and enables bad ones all to save 16 seconds. If you care more about the runtime of your game than the players playing it, you shouldn't make the rules.
Todd drops in a pretty fadeaway after flashing to space. Love it.
You can see Nix does a great job absorbing this contact but he could do with slightly longer wingspan to help him get this layup off clean w/ power. Just can't generate the touch.
Kuminga with the isolation move on Henry. Stride length + finishing length galore.
Another Pick and Pop for Todd, who finally misses.
Nix w/ a great contest in transition and then a Green 3.
Make or no, Green probably needs a ground up rebuild of this shot.
Make or no, Green probably needs a ground up rebuild of this shot.
I have BEEN a Gary Payton II stan and I REMAIN a Gary Payton II stan.
Nix + Todd's pick and pop threat draws extra help and Nix makes a nice read out of the corner to find Green wide open for a 3pt attempt.
Jarrett Jack calling his own number from 17ft w/ double digits on the shot clock is not OK w/ me.
This lob is in the air 3 seconds after Green starts running. He hasn't put this together yet but the athleticism is explicit.
You wanted the replays, right?
Please introduce this man to Chip Engelland sooner rather than later my god.
