OK I have to get off Twitter. Emotionally exhausted, disappointed, but trying to remember what I am grateful for:

Thank you to Congress for taking swift action on the Articles of Impeachment, and for making it a serious charge

Thank you to the 10 Republicans who voted for it

Thank you to the *amazing* House Managers who put together an incredible, compelling case in record time

Thank you to the top-notch lawyers who advised them behind the scenes

Thank you to your excellent oral advocacy which presented the full horror of what happened to the world

Thank you for taking the time to prove every element in such detail, and beyond a reasonable doubt (IMO)

Thank you for staying professional and dignified in the face is insults and lies

Thank you to the 7 Republicans who voted with an open mind and on the merits, as required

It is, overall, an impressive, historic feat even if it did not turn out the way most of us would have liked. It shows that there are more people who believe in the values of this country than their party.
