Me 18 months ago:

“I just need to figure out a way to get a collegiate pitching coach job... once I incorporate the Driveline it will be smooth sailing.”

(Fast forward to first week of Fall implementation)

Me to Athlete: “Perform the Pivot Pickoff exercise.”
Trying to incorporate any new program with a staff in which 90% of the pitchers are foreign to weighted balls is a unique experience in itself.

Add that on to getting it balanced with the practice schedule.. insuring appropriate throwing volume for 2-way athletes..
Working through budget constraints:

- Plyos, wrist weights, leather wb’s, horse stall mats, stalker gun bought with my own money.

Figuring out a place to reliably throw plyos:

- fence in video is too low
- fence was wearing down quickly
- grass clearly getting beat up
Just to name a few..

And some unaccounted for complexity makes its presence known pretty quickly..

Couple quick thoughts (imo)
1. Most coaches are going to be bad when they’re beginning independent of the debris in front of them.

2. You shouldn’t forget that you once were that coach.

3. If you aren’t convinced you used to be brutal at your job each new calendar year.. you’re probably below average.
