As individuals, I encourage folks to reach out to their legislator and ask them to support if you think they’re good bills too . I’ll add more as I have time this weekend/week!

Starting with a great resolution from @SHollinsD23! HJR13 - Joint Resolution Declaring Racism as a Moral & Public Health Crisis.

You know I have to add this one from @SenatorLuz! SB158 — Children’s Health Coverage Amendments which removes barriers to cover more kids!

HB81 - Mental Health Days for Students from @mike_winder. Allows mental health days to be listed as a valid reason for missing school. So awesome!

HB158 - Juvenile Interrogation Amendments from @marshajudkins! Great bill to address young ppls ability to address consent to being interrogated & explicit access to attorney/parents when they are detained & interrogated by policy. So important.

HB279 - Higher Education for Incarcerated Youth from @lowrysnow to extend ability for youth in juvenile justice secures care to access college courses .

HB338 - School District Voter Eligibility Amendments from @RepBriscoe! This bill would give pathways for school districts to allow 16 & 17 year olds to vote in their local school board elections. #YouthEmpowerment

SB80 - Utah Anti Discrimination Act Amendments from @derekkitchen. This bill would add protections for race related traits/hairstyles to our anti discrimination act. Such a great step we can take as a state!

HB278- Name Change Process for Dixie State University from @KellyMiles4Utah. Requires a new name to be recommended for their institution (no longer including “Dixie”).

HB41 - Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Task Force from @RepAngelaRomero. This bill extends funding to this task force until 2023. So important because the work MUST continue!!
