Four impeachment votes in, no Democratic Senator in American history has ever crossed party lines.
Proud of the seven Republican Senators who did the right thing, against partisan interest. This should have been the easiest time to cross the line - even a conviction would not change who held power. And the offense was grave.
I have to assume that we will never see a president convicted, & none will be impeached again except as a partisan messaging exercise. That's a real loss of an important safeguard the Founding Fathers left us.
On the upside, this ought to be the last time that Republicans in Congress are asked to vote about Donald Trump. It's over.
