I’ve taken part in dozens of criminal jury trials over the course of more than a decade. Trust and believe me when I say there was NEVER going to be a Perry Mason moment. Never.

The “optics” of the dog & pony show allowing the GOP to lie, harass, & spread conspiracy theories through witness questioning & fighting over calling irrelevant witnesses to smear every powerful Dem they don’t like would’ve been far worse than the alleged optics of no wifnesses.

I don’t even agree w/ the optics argument. Dems won here - they kept the case clean and got a stipulation on one of their most damning pieces of evidence.

Trial wisdom tells any good litigation lawyer this: don’t muddy the waters.

Just admit that you are a political junky who wanted to be entertained. They are fighting for you. Just not in a way that satisfies your craving for vengeance.

I crave justice too. It was never gonna happen here. Let these parallel investigations play out and be patient.

I also forgot to mention: the witnesses didn’t want to cooperate. Don’t bitch about weeks if not months of litigation and then turn around with your hand open for another stimmy.

Yes they can walk and chew gum but it’s more than scheduling. It’s dealmaking to help people.
