Am trying and failing to explain to my retired-teacher father why online teaching is 5 times more exhausting than being in the classroom and now am curious myself.

@PatrickCragg said it was like ‘trying to teach by shouting through a letter box.’ Your thoughts please, edutwitter
Loving your responses so far. I should add that I have 99% attendance and writing/research tasks in every GC lesson that I cycle through giving comments and feedback so I know engagement and outcomes and progress intimately

...and now I have 75% of my answer
No 1 thing learnt from the excellent answers to this question: without laughter, teaching is an uphill struggle for many of us. This is why the best thing about my online lessons is how ridiculously funny my students are

Exhibit A: group research task after I turned chat off
No2 thing learnt: I look great with facial hair
