Born in Italy in 1964, Gianluca would start his career at Cremonese and help them secure promotion to Serie B. His performances would earn him a move to @sampdoria_en where he would form a partnership with future @ManCity manager Roberto Mancini. He would become rather prolific!
Vialli's scintilating form would earn him a world record move to @juventusfcen but not before helping Sampdoria to their first Serie A title (Gianluca was top scorer), UEFA Cup Winners Cup (Vialli scored both goals in the final) and three Italian cups (setting a new goal record)
Alongside Roberto Baggio and Paolo Di Canio, Vialli would be very successful at Juventus. He would spearhead their charge towards the Serie A title, Italian cup and the Supercoppa Italia. Ginaluca would make a total of 102 apps and score 38 goals. Now the good bit...
In an attempt to bring 'Sexy Football' to Stamford Bridge, Ruud Gullit would sign Vialli in 1996 ON A FREE TRANSFER! Despite winning the FA cup in his debut season, Gianluca would not cement his place in the starting XI due to a falling out with Gullit.
Gianluca was surprisingly made the new player-manager following Ruud Gullit's dismissal and would be incredibly successful. He would lead us to the UEFA Cup Winners Cup, the League Cup, Super Cup and FA cup. What a haul! Gianluca would be dismissed in 2000 unfortunately.
