🇪🇬 Different Dances in Egypt [thread] 🇪🇬
The most famous dance in Egypt is bellydancing. There are two types of it. Raqs El Baladi; translating to “dance of the country” and Raqs Sharqi, which is more performance like in contrast to baladi which is more traditionally social, danced only between smaller groups of women.
Raqs El Baladi is more grounded; danced with flat feet. The outfits of the dance are also different, since it more earthy & traditional in contrast to the more well known outfits in Raqs Sharqi. Fifi Abdou is dubbed as the “Queen of Baladi”
