1. Awdal region
Awdal is bordered by Djibouti, Ethiopia and Gulf of Aden. The capital city of the region is Borama. Major towns in the region are Borama and Zeila, Practitioners of Islam first entered Somalia in the northwestern city of Zeila in during prophet Muhammad's lifetime

2. Maroodi-jeex AKA Waqooyi Galbeed region.
Northwest is bordered by Awdal, Togdheer regions and DDS The capital city of the region is Hargeisa. Major towns in the region are Hargeisa and Gabiley. Laas Geel cave and Naasa hablood ( twin hills) also situated in this region.

Togdheer is bordered by Sool, sanaag, Northwest and DDS. The capital city of the region is Burao. Major towns in the region are burao and oodwayne. Sheikh town is located in this region which is the city of civilization. Sheikh Mountain is in this region.

Sanaag region is bordered by Bari, Northwest and Sool regions. The capital city of the region is Erigavo. Major towns in the region are Erigavo and Badhan. Calmadow amd Daalo Mountains are located in this region. For me it's the most beautiful region in Somalia.

Bay region is bordered by the Bakool, Hiran, Lower Shebelle, Middle Juba and Gedo regions. Baidoa is is the capital city of the region and the most important city of Bay region, Baidoa has such a beautiful waterfalls and green gardens which attract the tourists.
