Been digging into some Chicago Soccer history today after hearing that Gil Heron spent years in Chicago as a player before his move to Celtic with Chicago Sparta - We got a lot of history in this game.

Though there aren't any pictures (that I can find) of Gil Heron in a Sparta kit, this is him three years prior while playing for the Detroit Wolverines in 1946.
Of course, the same year Heron would play in that southwest side stadium that is now a parking lot, before signing for one of Europe's biggest powerhouses in Glasgow - Bobbie Scott, a Chicago Singer, would give birth to their son - Gil Scott-Heron, born April, 1st - 1949
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, raised in the industrial Midwest, made famous around the world as "The Black Arrow" in Glasgow, Scotland and "The Babe Ruth of Soccer" here in the states - Gil Heron is absolutely a legend of the beautiful game.
@BlackArrowFC (named in his honor) has some amazing and in depth content around the legend of Gil Heron, including this awesome thread from when his grandchildren visited Celtic Park in 2019. https://twitter.com/BlackArrowFC/status/1200142156700143616
