If you have a thick concentration of one element in your birth chart, you will probably notice a dearth of another. But subconsciously or consciously, it's also likely you'll be importing that element in other ways. Par exemple: (1/)
I know so many academics or PhD students with zero air in their chart. (Self included.) While school may have been challenging in early education, because childhood ed can favour more linear and logic-driven learning styles, once these kids find their groove… (2/)
..they may find themselves oxygenated by thought and words. They read obsessively. They write. Often, their academic styles are not dusty or staid, but juicy. Wyrd. (Ex. my all-fire-&-water friend pursuing a PhD in mediumship [and witchcraft] as a genre of media studies.) (3/)
(Listen to our podcast with said genius friend here! )
If you have no earth in your chart: you may ground yourself through food. (I have seen food addiction as part of this.) Equally: gardening. Surrounding yourself with plants. The literal hugging of trees - to remind yourself that you too are of gravity and sunlight and mud. (4/)
If you have no water in your chart: you may be one of those people who forgets to drink water. But once you start, you can’t leave your house without a water bottle. The sensation of thirst may be panic-inducing. You may feel more whole with time spent in watery domains. (5/)
In humid ecosystems. In bathtubs or swimming pools. You may not feel at -home- in these spaces, but they may help you tap into an inner wellness. While it may be hard to identify or express emotion, you may do so proactively - seeking therapy or other modes of self-knowing. (6/)
If you have zero fire in your chart: you may tend toward feeling low sometimes. Like your inner ecosystem is a bit marshy or overcast. Depending on the cocktail of other elements, you may invite that fire in through physical activity or creation. (7/)
Through flashes of anger or rage, which may be rare for you, but when they come, that heat feels so purifying. Time spent in sunlight may fill you up. Time around a fire. Time in the intimacy of a candle. (8/)
You might introduce fire to elements that are already more comfortable for you. Ex: hot tub or sauna. (🜄) Creative writing or filmmaking. (🜁) Cooking, growing... maybe fermenting? Definitely food-or-drink-centred merriment among friends. (🜃) (9/)
When we lack one element, I notice we can feel repelled by representations of it. People with excess of that element may get on our nerves. Yet inevitably, we wind up in relationship with them. (10/)
Whether you mindfully work with missing elements or not, they have a way of creeping back in. Thanks for reading this far! Jasmine and I both work with the elements in our sessions. If you want to learn more, check out our podcast or book a reading. :) http://www.kosmictonic.com
