2/ Let's see. Where to start. The Republican Party that called COVID a hoax. That refused to allocate funds to our schools to make re-opening a safe option. That voted for Betsy DeVos to become the least qualified Sec of Education in our nation's history.
3/ That has consistently gutted funding of our public schools. That refuses to pay Ts what they deserve. That shoves absurd and distorted curriculum onto our schools, Ts, and children. That thinks it's just fine for bars to re-open and COVID to run rampant.
4/ That has been complicit in supporting an ignorant and incompetent President who is the worst possible role model for America's children. Who scream about liberties being infringed when asked to wear a mask to protect the health of others, but now bark orders at Ts.
5/ That has fought any sensible action to decrease gun violence, siding with the NRA and those who flaunt their assault weapons, putting children and teachers in danger. That refuses to condemn the evil of those who claim that Sandy Hook and Parkland were staged events.
6/ That refused to authorize funding to address childhood poverty, in the name of fiscal responsibility, while rushing to shower our nation's most wealthy with massive tax cuts. That somehow over the years has lost all sense of right versus wrong, of integrity, of honesty.
7/ If you're this Republican (and, sadly, many are), you have forever ceded right to tell teachers and schools what to do. The rest of us need to call out your shameless hypocrisy in trying to score political education points, and the harm you've done to our schools and children.
