2. These young players are not subjected to 20 minutes of mindless “skill drills” at team training. Their coach has not uttered the tired old platitude, “They gotta crawl before they can walk.” #TOVO ...

3. If traditional team “skill drills” are a prerequisite for skill acquisition, how is it possible these kids excel? If “skill drills” are a prerequisite to capable execution, where is the research? Neither in practice nor in theory is this status quo assumption true. #TOVO ...

4. If we are willing to examine our assumptions and reimagine what the “fundamentals” truly are, and how young players can acquire and execute them in a team setting, we will unleash our children’s potential not yet realized. #TOVO ...

5. Is it hard to let go of platitudes and past practices? No. Unless our ego speaks. Are we willing to consider doing so for our children? We will either cling to complacency or embrace efficiency. This is a choice we make one coach at a time. I have hope. What say you? #TOVO
