A Monday deadline to register for a special ballot seems really inadequate to me. It will severely lower turnout.

212,000 ppl voted in 2019 - so approximately 185,000-200,000 ppl have to call/register online in 72 hours? That's just under 2,800 ppl per hour, 24 hrs a day.
If they all registered by phone (which I bet over half will - this is NL), that is 46 people PER MINUTE. Even at half it is 23 people per minute.

This is not accounting for people sleeping, etc which would double these numbers.
The deadline of Monday simply has to be extended to allow for a fair and reasonable amount of time for voters to get themselves a ballot.

Also there needs to be a SERIOUSLY LOUD education campaign on how to vote/return these ballots. A PDF is not acceptable.
NL has a serious illiteracy problem and we can't simply say "oh too bad" to these people.

Never mind the impact of the Level 5 alert will have on the postal service and the time it will take to process these ballots.
Throw in the serious concerns many people now have with ElectionsNL capacity to handle this situation and we have a recipe for an absolute disaster.

It is going to take more TIME and more EFFORT to do this properly. Rushing haphazardly is unacceptable.
If the candidates/parties want something useful to talk about - this is it right here. Make sure everyone has sufficient time to get their ballots, the time to return them, and the capacity for the system to count them properly.
