1/
on #Frontex and info on SIRs from the latest FOI I got. I requested all SIRs for a) the 'standard' joint operations in #Evros b)the Rapid Border op in the same area, 2nd semester 2020. For a)got 5 SIRS, one traffic accident, a shooting incident & three deaths of #Refugeesgr.

2/ No SIRs on human rights incidents. For b) - the #Evros RBI -, the said they don't hold any. Possible interpretations: No SIRs whatsoever were submitted for RBI Evros (???) or for whatever reason FX doesn't want to release them. Everything is possible.
3/I also requested a SIR (10048/2019) I came across in a doc released in another SIR, which appeared to be linked to #Evros and implicating German officers. Notwithstanding the fact it's unclear whether the incident happened in
or
, which is not clear in the SIR, two issues:

4/Either FX German speaking officers were involved and the incident was covered up, or there are 'civilians' beating up people on the move at either the
or
border. I don't know if Frontex investigated the incident further.

5/ A reminder: this is the third SIR related to #Evros & fundamental rights that Frontex didn't tell us about: We asked if any FR SIRs had been submitted in relation to Evros since 2018 when we were researching our report on FX, and they said none.
6/ Other interesting bits: Mentions of fundamental rights SIRs in the FRO reports have been redacted. In previous reports they were not. Frontex really doesn't want us to know. Remember they proposed to classify all SIRs as RESTRIENT UE/EU RESTRICTED?

7/ So I'm posting all this precisely because Frontex keeps obstructing transparency and scrutiny, and the only way to keep exposing them is making this kind of information public.
Oh, and somebody buy the PAD office a scanner, the quality of the documents I got is abysmal.
