1. It's time for the WHO to recognize that China has zero interest in uncovering the origins of the virus--or in such an understanding becoming public knowledge. The WHO team should learn what it can, but it should be fully honest about this in its final report.
2. The WHO is now (unwittingly?) aiding a PRC disinfo campaign. PRC officials have been making various claims about the virus originating outside of China since late winter 2020. Recent assertions to this effect are less crude & more sophisticated, but it's the same old disinfo.
3. The US, ideally with foreign partners, should establish a parallel, independent investigatory commission. The WHO has lit its credibility on fire over the past year. That commission should assess WHO findings, endorse or refute them as needed, (cont.)...
...make clear what is known and unknown, and provide an unvarnished description of ways in which China has both aided and impeded a better understanding of the virus and its origins. /END
