I'm trans. I may present as a woman(badly most of the time!), but I am not nor ever will be a woman. Being a woman is more than just hormones and surgeries! And I am not deluded to think that I'd ever be a woman!
When I began my journey, the Dr at the clinic said to me
"You'll never" pass "as a woman you know"! Those were his exact words. I told him that I was doing this for me. ME. Not for anyone else. And then, because I didn't wear a dress and makeup every time I went to see him, he thought I wasn't ready for the surgery!! Exactly!
So when I went to see him the next time I wore the shortest dress I could find and lots of makeup!! He said it was "duly noted". And 6 months later I had my pre op appointment in Brighton!
Six weeks after that I had my surgery! No tears no second thoughts. Nothing! Still happy today!! 8 years on! Xx
