This Hafeez outburst is actually a culmination of his own frustrations & insecurities I guess, because for someone who's had a two decades long career, never in life has he become a focal point of Pakistan cricket.

His induction in cricket left a lot to be desired due to [contd]

his lack of skills during which openers like Hameed, Farhat, Salman Butt all were performing better than him.

When he did eventually sort out his mediocrity & returned in 2010, Misbah took the reigns & for the next 7 years he played under the shadow of someone else again~

Post Misbah he must've had aspirations of taking control of a team in need of a senior player but Mickey came around & saw how mentally fragile he was (dropping Root at slips which cost us a series in Eng) & backed Sarfaraz who eventually led us to the 2017 win.

For a brief ~

moment during the 2012 T20WC, Hafeez was seen as someone who could take charge post Misbah but with Afridi being around & 'the lobby' preferring him over Hafeez's uncharismatic demeanor meant that those aspirations were short lived

Even when he did actually succeed (CT17 Final)~

The success was never centered around him, the guy literally played the best knock of his 32 averaging career yet Sarfaraz coming on to the Balcony and the win touted as being engineered by Sarfaraz + Youngsters meant that there was no praise/respite for Hafeez as cricketer~

It must have also been quite gutting for Hafeez that Azhar Ali was someone the board saw as a prime candidate post Misbah than Hafeez who at the time was getting banned/unbanned due to having an illegal action.

It might also not have helped that he's had brain fades such as the~

Mohali 2011 & that Steyn episode. Whatever the case may be for nearly 20 years Hafeez has always been the guy playing second fiddle and with the T20 team flourishing without his services he basically sees the writing on the wall.

His outbursts basically entail the mindset of a~

man who has massive regrets in life & therefore he's just looking to hash out at the easiest target he can find - which kinda happens to be Sarfaraz since he's had a history against him.

When I sad down and thought about it, it kinda made me sad thinking how depressing his~

life would be.

Even when his PSL side won, Sammy took all the credit, fame, respect while Hafeez was left to small pleasantries. The guy jumped shipped to Lahore, reached the final & then lost to the biggest rivals of Lahore.

His tantrums basically are his own frustrations tbh.
