bro so I was watching a video on Umar Ibn Al-Khattab RA and there’s a story that goes....
Umar Ibn Al-Khattab RA wakes up in the morning one day. He gets up and he starts waking up the Muslims for Fajr. They all come to the mosque and he begins his prayer. (1)
Umar Ibn Al-Khattab RA wakes up in the morning one day. He gets up and he starts waking up the Muslims for Fajr. They all come to the mosque and he begins his prayer. (1)
While he’s in his prayer, a Jewish slave who made a specific edged knife specifically for Umar RA, goes through the lines as the Muslims are praying and he stabs Umar RA several times so much so that Umar RA drops to the floor. He kept praying when he was stabbed. (2)
When he finally dropped to the floor, the Muslims got him milk to drink. When Umar RA would drink it, the milk would come out of his stomach and out out the hole in his body and this is when they knew he would die. So Umar RA is on the floor and he’s dying. (3)
He goes unconscious, he wakes and deep this, the first thing he asks is “have I prayed the Fajr prayer?” SubhanAllah. The Muslims tell him: No, Ya Umar and he faints. He wakes up again: “Have I prayed the Fajr prayer?” The Muslims reply, “No ya Umar and he faints.” (4)
He wakes up again: “have I prayed the Fajr prayer?” And they go: “No ya Umar, you dropped.” His son brings him a pillow to put under his head. Umar RA goes “remove that pillow from under my head and put head in the dirt, maybe Allah will see my head in the dirt and..... (5)
...have mercy on me.” All because he missed ONE prayer bro, ONE prayer!! And it wasn’t even his fault, he was in actual prayer. Brooo he was already guaranteed paradise and yet look how worried he was that he missed one prayer. In this condition, he says: “bring me water... (6)
....so I can make Wudu.” And then he tell his son: “stand me up” his son goes, “you want to stand up whilst you’re in this position?” Umar RA insists that he be helped to stand up as he doesn’t want to pray whilst he’s lying down. So they tried to help... (7)
...him up, the narrations says that he let out this cry of pain and they laid him back down and he prayed lying down. Now after Umar RA satisfied his soul and his Iman and his soul and after completing Fajr, then he asked the question they all expected him to ask.... (8)
....He says, “who killed me?” So they tell him: “the slave of Mugirah” and he goes “you mean the fire worshipper, Abu Lu’Lu’?” They say: “yes it was Abu Lu’Lu’ Al Majusi, he was a non Muslim. You know what Umar RA says: “Alhumdulillah, that Allah has not made my death... (9)
....at the hands of a man who has even made one Sajdah to Allah, by which by virtue of just making one prostration to Allah, he can argue against me to Allah on the day of Judgement.” (10)
This just goes to show how much emphasis was put on Salah and despite Umar RA being one of the 10 that were promised Jannah, he didn’t accept missing one. SubhanAllah man. (11)
Umar RA, Abu Bakr As-Siddiq RA and the Prophet Muhammed SAW were all 63 when they died. It was as if Abu Bakr RA and Umar RA were created to live with the Prophet Muhammed SAW and die with the Prophet Muhammed SAW and be buried next to him. SubhanAllah (17)
