A little tweet about social media.
1/ Social media is often touted as something bad. Something which bring up the worst in people. Cancel culture, bullying and bad behavior.
Although it of course isn't entirely wrong I think Twitter is something unique.

2/ Look at a layman like myself. I have learned more about viruses, vaccines, statistics, mutations and much more than I could ever imagine. But even more importantly. Scientist openly share knowledge around the globe,
3/ at pace like we never seen before. This is one of the reasons why I am 100 % confident that we will beat this pandemic very soon. But it takes an effort from each individual to use Twitter.
4/ It's like opening Pandora's box to a world of information ... and misinformation unfortunately. It took me some time to find the right people to follow but I think I'm getting there now.
5/ If it wasn't for @sailorroscout , a Moderna scientist, I would have believed that the ongoing mutations would keep us in this pandemic for ever. You can btw. add @profshanecrotty to that list. https://twitter.com/sailorrooscout/status/1359946547887243265?s=21
6/ Or @andrew_croxford . An experienced immunologist who is extremely good at only sharing news which can be backed up by science. And call out what is just Doomsday breaking news. https://twitter.com/andrew_croxford/status/1360303669015552004?s=21
7/ Or how about all the sharing of sequencing data by scientists like @MadsAlbertsen85 or @firefoxx66 . They are doing amazing work. What scientist can do today is just wow

8/ Wanna know about human behavior in the middle of an pandemic and how to get people to comply with government recommendations? Listen to @M_B_Petersen . He knows! https://twitter.com/m_b_petersen/status/1237785420269858817?s=21
9/ Last but not least. If you want to know about Rt and modeling (still not sure I understand this
) then you follow @KasperKepp

10/ There are so many fantastic scientists to follow out there. If you chose the right ones to follow, Twitter is a fantastic media to use. (Sorry if I forgot anyone). And stop following doomsday-breaking-news-TV scientists. You know who you are so I’m not gonna mention you. End
