If ordering from a small, indie micro-brewery & you think delivery is expensive, or min. order quantity too high, it's worth knowing that often, the brewery isn't shipping enough to get cheap rates & has to stump up cash behind the scenes to cover the full delivery charge.
There are a few breweries I know who are minimum order quantity of 12 cans/bottles for national delivery, with £5 delivery charge.

Delivery actually costs around £10 (breweries stump up the other fiver) so the minimum order quantity offsets a potential loss on the sale.
Breweries have to keep delivery charges as low as possible as there's little consumer appetite to pay £10 for a beer delivery. But, that's what it costs 🤷
