If you make pop music, and the core of marketing is focused on the middle class and elite, you’re doing it wrong.

Music blow, comes from ground up. The lower class first have to feel it, and give it their backing.

The middle class always plays catch-up, the elite are sleepers.
That’s why every great record in this country first makes it through ‘the streets.’ They have the numbers, they have the time, they’ve got raw love to give.

The middle class always claim to break records, but what they are truly doing is curating & regurgitating the ‘streets.’
And as for the elite, they are no use for your marketing. They hold no weight in pushing your record.

They rely on their middle class friends, who rely on the streets for knowledge and new direction.

They are great for performance fees though. They will pay you to see you.
Lesson here is to always pander to the streets. Pander to the guys who have nothing but passion to give.

They will be your foot soldiers, and spread your message. They will push you for free.

Once you have them, it's just a matter of time before the rest catches up.
