[Thread] Quite a few questions being asked about this card drop contest from new users and not in Slack.
It's essentially a mechanism disguised as a contest for taking cards off the market (probably at a greater speed) in return for a chance to win

The cards you choose to enter into the contest will be removed after the contests starts.
You pick a GK, Def, Mid and 3 utility players.
This means you enter 6 cards you can afford to LOSE from your collection but also ones who you think can score enough to win you money.

This isn't just for people with big collections or surplus cards.
If you have a small collection and some cash sitting in your balance then you can still enter by buying the cards off the market.
Look at some of the values of squads here...

You can assemble an entry for as little or as expensive as you want. Calculate the risk.
Will anyone enter a Sterling or Bruno?
You'd be silly to do that but....there are alot of silly people out there.
You can't rule it out
So who am I entering?

So who am I entering?
My collection consists of 2/3 cards of each player. I don't really need anymore than that based on my bankroll and budgets.
I'm entering 2 teams made up of Burnley, Palace, Everton, Fulham and West Ham players.
I've purchased most of the cards I'm entering off the market.

Why did I buy them? Well, a) they were still cheap and b) I want to protect my collection count for rewards.
I could have bought them back later but I know I'll forget and then when I do remember I either have no cash or end up paying a wee bit more.

Both teams cost me around £4 to £5.50. It consists of players I think could score well based on match ups.
I did wonder if I should just enter a team into the Silver contest for £5 but the value seems pretty good here if your team can score enough points obviously.

I do wonder at what point, with my squad, the entry costs just isn't worth it.
So let's use a loose example to go off.
142 entries at time of writing
If we get to 250 entries then top prize will be 18.2% of the pot = £273
10th place will win £21
30th = £12
50th = £10

For me, that means I could double my entry fee for just finishing in the top 50.
Plus let's factor in the enjoyment too.
Might not seem like much for some but if you're a trader with a small collection, it's a great feeling being able to turn £5 into £10 anyway.

So, this is a welcomed format for taking cards off the market - lower end cards too which were never appealing for DOTD anyway.
