Okay but the thing about ThanZag is, beyond the yearning and the separation and the sense of loss, is that they are each other's CONFIDANTS. Thanatos is always discussing the events around the House with Zagreus, and Zagreus is always asking for his takes on things.
You really get the feeling of a certain equality and willingness to discuss the bananas stuff around them, even if Thanatos and Zagreus disagree, they always talk it out in the end. Zagreus apologizes when he upsets Thanatos and Thanatos does the same, admitting when he jumps to-
conclusions and going too hard on Zagreus about his friendship with Dusa, for example. They are peers in a way that Zagreus isn't with anyone else in the House!!! Achilles is his friend, but he's also his mentor. Meg is his ex and has her duty to stop him. Dusa needs time before-
they can become friends. Nyx is obtuse. Hypnos is Hypnos. But Thanatos is Zagreus' confidant, the person he reaches out to, and who gives him his honest thoughts, even when they disagree. Neither of them knew what was going on, but at least they could talk to each other. ;u;
